Frequently Asked Question

  • What is OPITAC™ Glutathione?

OPITAC™ Glutathione is the manufactured form of glutathione, a tripeptide formed from glutamic acid, cysteine and glycine, and naturally produced by the body. OPITAC™ Glutathione is the world’s only glutathione holding U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) GRAS status (the indication of safety as a food ingredient), since it is derived from torula yeast, which is also approved by the U.S. FDA as edible yeast.

  • What are the benefits of OPITAC™ Glutathione?

OPITAC™ Glutathione, with its powerful antioxidant properties, can help scavenge ROS (reactive oxygen species) that are generated in the body, protecting us from such harms internally. It can enhance lipid metabolism, and promote skin health as well.

  • What is the raw material of OPITAC™ Glutathione?

Torula yeast. OPITAC™ Glutathione is derived from torula yeast (candida utilis) as a product of its natural fermentation process. Torula yeast is designated GRAS by the FDA (Federal regulation code 172.896). In Germany it was approved as a food in 1920.

  • What is the recommended dosage of OPITAC™ Glutathione?

At least 100, and up to 500, milligrams daily, depending on the application and regulations applying in each country. Please contact us for more information.

  • What is OPITAC™ Glutathione’s country of origin?

    Japan

  • Is OPITAC™ Glutathione safe?

Glutathione is a naturally-occurring tripeptide that is produced in the human body. OPITAC™ Glutathione is the world’s only manufactured glutathione to hold U.S. FDA GRAS status. This is due to its being derived from a natural food, torula yeast, which was previously approved as a safe, edible yeast by the U.S. FDA.
